Monochrome + Modern: Bri and Timm
There are weddings that are beautiful. And then there are weddings that feel like they mean something. Bri and Timm's day at 8 At Trinity on 25 October 2025 was the latter. Seventy guests dressed in black tie gathered at one of Lake Macquarie's most celebrated dining destinations for an evening that was sleek, considered and deeply personal — right down to the acoustic guitarist who knew every word of the country music brief and later became their DJ.
But the moment that defined the day came at the altar, when Bri looked up and saw her husband holding their daughter. It is the kind of image that needs no styling, no theme, no brief. Some moments just are.
Bri worked with Days Like These coordinator Madi throughout the planning process, and we sat down with her to talk through the details, the decisions, and the advice she would give to every bride who is currently exactly where she was.

What was the overall vibe or theme you wanted for your day?
Monochrome, modern editorial, black tie.
Were you nervous about anything before the day?
I was really nervous about how the day itself would run — the set up, the timing, everyone doing their part. It ran so smoothly and I didn't need to worry about a single thing on the day.
Was there a detail, big or small, that you're so glad you included?
Two things. First, we selected a venue that, being a top tier restaurant, provided outstanding food. And second, we found an amazing acoustic guitar singer who nailed the country music brief and later joined the party as our DJ.
What made you choose Days Like These?
I did a lot of research and vetted a number of companies before deciding on DLT. Their team was so friendly and relaxed, they didn't push or pressure, and the communication was always very efficient and informative.
How would you describe your experience working with your coordinator Madi?
Amazing. I truly loved working with Madi. She immediately understood my personality and vision, and provided so much calm to counteract my anxiety.
How did it feel knowing the team was looking after everything behind the scenes?
I felt so much calmer knowing someone had it all sorted.
"She followed up on things I had forgotten about, asked questions I hadn't even thought about, and took over all communication with vendors which took a huge burden off my plate."
What was your favourite moment of the entire day?
Seeing my husband holding our daughter at the altar.
What would you say to a couple on the fence about hiring a coordinator?
Having a wedding coordinator is absolutely 1000% worth it.
Any pearls of wisdom for brides currently in their planning phase?
Don't sweat the small stuff. In years to come the smaller details will fade away, but the thing you will always remember is the love you felt in the room that day.
A line that captures your day?
More than just a wedding — a celebration of our story, the life we've built, and the people who've been there through it all.
From the DLT team
Bri's day is a great reminder that your venue does a lot of the heavy lifting. Choosing a space that is already exceptional — in food, in atmosphere, in service — means your guests are well looked after before the styling even begins. If you are weighing up a blank canvas versus a venue with its own identity, consider how much of the guest experience the venue itself can carry.
